  1. Great site Jack-

Too much talk about seafaring – getting sea sick – must go

Enjoy the ride but above all- stay safe!

  2. I love the videos, I can almost feel the bike leaning as you take those curves on 89. Ride Safely and enjoy the trip.

  3. Jack,

Checked out the Ferry website, and looks like a lot of fun. Always have wanted to visit Alaska. Ride safe once off the ferry, and watch out for those big Alaskan Brown Bears I heard they have a craving for Harley’s……….LOL

  4. HI Jack,

I am glad to see you are on the ship even though the map page here shows your speed as 0. I suspect you can relax a bit on the ship and take in the scenery. Its good to hear you have all your electronics working properly again. Happy Cruising on both Ship and Harley!

  5. Hi Dad!

Beautiful photos of Alaska! I hope you are enjoying the ride and the amazing scenery. Be safe!

… you kept the puppy right? 😉

    love,
    Angie

  6. When I was in the Navy, we called “parted ways with the Seafood Saute” “Feeding the Fish”……..LOL

The ferry ride doesn’t sound as glamorous as what you’d think. I think if I ever take on that adventure, it will be by two wheels too.

Hope the rest of your trip makes up for the lousy boat ride.

  7. Umm, I know I am not a total car wiz, but there is no way that was a 1958 Chevy convertible. 1958 was the start of the rear wing look on the Chevy’s. I would guess it was a 1952-1954 model.

    Why can’t the buffalo fly?

    • You are correct sir. A typo on my part. The 8 on my keyboard is right next to the 2. You just looked at your keyboard didn’t you?

      Jack

  8. Your “Stateroom” video reminds of the hotel rooms I stay in when I travel to Japan…..very, very spacious. LOL

Your “Day 14” was interesting; I didn’t know they had “Buffalo Crosswalks”? I have heard when riding like up in Montana, Wyoming, ND, SD, they advise you to give those critters a very wide berth.

    Continued safe riding.

    • I thought I did as he started moving across as I was slowing down so I just stopped. Then I thought, “oh good, you just gave him more space in which to speed up his charge.”

  9. That is some really stunning scenery up there; almost wish I would have went with you instead of the 4 Corners. Don’t know how you’re keeping your eyes on the road.

  10. Just arrived home where it will take another day for me to unwind.
Too bad we missed each other- You did good Jack!
Sturgis starts in another two / three days – I can’t make it but how about you?

  11. No more long trips???? I was looking forward to a 4 Corners partner next Spring…..

Great pics and videos, most definitely going to add a GoPro to my arsenal.

    Regards,
    Elliot

    • Don’t count me out yet. As I seem to be getting older I do have some adjustments to make regarding my stamina, my bike, what I take with me, etc. I love cross country riding but there will be some major changes coming. But first I have a very lovely lady friend who just brought a trike so there will very well be a trip back to our roots in Illinois via the old U.S. Highways.

  12. Jack,

Job well done! Glad your trip was completed without incident.

    Regards,
    Elliot

  13. Glad you had a safe and wonderful trip.
Thanks for letting me ride along, via the Information Superhighway.

Am remembering all the good-fun parts of the journey…..
Well, am also rerunning the ride on the 6 inches of wet, potting soil.
    Loved that description. LMAO

    See ya in October, Joe
