Time to visit my Brother-in-law and his progeny up in Denver. Along the way we will ride the “Million Dollar Highway” (U.S. 550 between  Silverton, CO and Ouray, CO). Then take the scenic route up through the Unaweep Tabeguache Scenic Byway (CO 141) to Grand Junction.  We then make a right turn and head over to Denver. After our visit, we hope to tour the “The Garden Of The Gods” and also do Pikes Peak while we are in the neighborhood. Then onto New Mexico where we plan to tour the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe and the Very Large Array (VLA) in Magdalena.

The above map will show our progress in real time using my cell phone’s GPS capabilities*. You can left-click on any spot on the path to see the statistics at that point in time. You may also send us a message by clicking on the Roadrunner icon, indicating our last known position, and typing your message in the text-box at the bottom of the popup.

Our proposed route is shown in magenta but that will be overlaid by the actual path that we take with a dark blue color. Note: the colors may change as Google Maps is undergoing changes and the author of the GPS APP is using OpenStreetMaps as a workaround. We may on occasion wander off said route but don’t worry; We do things like that. It’s a feature, not a bug. The motels shown are just placeholders. We may or may not stay at them. It all depends on each day.

Please note that when we have completed the trip the above map will be changed to a static, not GPS driven, map.
