Day 16 - June 8, 2011 - Salem, OR

KSU at 7:30 AM PDT and KSD at 7:30 PM PDT. Very long day on the road but worth every minute. Absolutely gorgeous scenery going up I-5 in Northern CA and Southern OR. Stopped often for some pictures (gallery updated) and breaks. Heavy truck traffic in the mountains, lots of up/down travel along the twisty road. That took a lot of time. Solid blue sky all day until 30 miles south of Salem. Did you know that there are miles and miles of rice paddies in CA? I didn’t. There are. Today totally erased “Black Monday!”

Day 17 - June 9, 2011 - Blaine, WA

KSU at 7:00 AM PDT and KSD at 3:30 PM PDT. Cloudy, chilly day on the road even though the weather gods promised me sunny skies. Oh well, no rain at least. Made it into Blaine, WA, my last corner, around 3:30 PM. It is done except for the going home part which starts tomorrow. Took a total of 17 days and 6,591 miles for the tour part. 3,443 miles from Phoenix to Maine and maybe around 1,820 from Blaine to home.
